This policy explains which personal data The Developers processes when you visit this website or contact us, why we do that, and which rights you have. We only process data that’s needed to help you — nothing beyond that.

2. What data we process
Contact form
If you fill in our contact form, we process your name, email address, project type and the content of your message. We use this data solely to respond to your question.
Visit data — only after consent
Only after you click "Accept" in our cookie banner does Google Analytics 4 set cookies to collect anonymised statistics about your visit: pages viewed, approximate location (city/region), device type, browser and how you reached the site. If you click "Decline", no analytics cookies are set and no visit data is collected.
Server logs
Our hosting partner Vercel keeps technical logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested). These are used to detect misuse and attacks on the site, and are deleted within a short period — typically 1 to 30 days, depending on the hosting plan.
3. Legal grounds
- Contact form — your request leads to pre-contractual contact (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Analytics — your explicit consent via the cookie banner (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Server logs — our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Who receives your data
We do not sell or share your data for commercial purposes. To operate the site we rely on the following processors:
- Vercel Inc. — hosting and CDN (USA). Privacy notice · DPA
- Google Ireland Ltd — Google Analytics 4 (Ireland, with data processing also in the USA). Privacy notice
- Web3Forms — contact form handling (your message is forwarded to our inbox). Privacy notice
For transfers outside the European Economic Area we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary technical measures (encryption in transit, IP anonymisation where possible).
5. Retention periods
- Contact forms: up to 24 months after last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
- Google Analytics data: up to 14 months (maximum GA4 retention).
- Server logs: typically deleted within 1 to 30 days.
6. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure (right to be forgotten)
- Restriction of processing
- Data portability
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw your consent for analytics (via the cookie banner or the cookie policy)
Send your request to boris@thedevelopers.be. We respond within 30 days.
7. Filing a complaint
If you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels).
8. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
